Who Wasn't at Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026 and Why
Valentino headed to Rome, Sacai opted for a lookbook, and Maison Margiela, Vetements and Casablanca sat the season out entirely

As much as any single show, the list of brands missing from Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026 shaped how the season was read by industry watchers.
Valentino skipped the official Paris calendar entirely, opting instead to stage its own runway show in Rome on March 12, two days after Paris officially wrapped a scheduling choice that continued a broader conversation about whether major houses need Paris's official calendar at all to command global attention. Meryll Rogge shifted her presentation to June, aligning it instead with the men's fashion week period, while Coperni chose not to stage a show this season entirely, amid what was described as a broader reassessment of its partnerships.
Sacai, meanwhile, opted for a lookbook format rather than a live runway presentation for its women's collection, joining a small but growing number of houses experimenting with lower-cost, lower-spectacle ways of presenting a season. Perhaps most notably, Maison Margiela, Vetements and Casablanca were all absent from the official Paris schedule this season without public explanation, prompting speculation among editors about shifting show calendars and, in some cases, deeper questions about each label's creative direction. Taken together, the absences painted a picture of a fashion month in quiet transition — smaller, in some ways, than in recent years, but no less closely watched.
